Hello, my name is Paityn Steadman. I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, but moved to Lubbock a few years ago to be closer to family. In 2022 I will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Health with a minor in Public Health and Health Promotion Education from Brigham Young University - Idaho. I currently hold certifications in Community Health Planning and Implementation, Community Health Methods and Evaluation, and Human Services. I currently plan on pursuing my education further by completing a master’s degree in Social Work.
I have great enthusiasm for service and volunteering. While serving a church mission, I participated in many different volunteering roles in the Albuquerque area. Some roles I held were a volunteer coordinator for Catholic Charities of New Mexico for the Asylum Seekers Assistance Program, tutor in Albuquerque Public Schools, created COVID relief boxes with New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services, and advised clients pursuing professional skills and educational goals with Development Counseling Services.
I hope to encourage and create those relationships with members of the community to empower them to act and perform with the appropriate tools for success, while promoting education. I am excited to continue through my journey of prevention and education as a Youth Prevention Specialist for Hub City Outreach Center.
