Hello, my name is Monica Delgado.  I am a Youth Prevention Specialist working with the indicated population. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Spanish. I am currently a Graduate student at Wayland Baptist University where I am working on my Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration on Government Administration. I have also attended El Paso Community College and Tarleton State University. Education is very important to me and I try to take as many additional classes as I can.

I have  lived my life giving back to the community. I was awarded the Commanders Award for Public Service, the Molly Pitcher award, Trio Achiever’s award (TTU),  the Community Spirit award from Red Cross, and The Women of Distinction Connect Award. I currently own an Event Planning business as I appreciate organization in everything I do. I am a member of the Lubbock Area Lights Chapter of the American Business Women Association and a member of Junior League. I serve on the City of Lubbock Appointments Advisory Board, and I have been appointed to the Community Engagement Task Force and serve as Secretary. I am active with the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and serves as an Ambassador. I currently am the President of the Bayless Atkins Neighborhood Association. My passion of selfless service is my driving force, and I believe the ability to give of oneself is truly the most important aspect of a person.

I am blessed to be able to work in an environment where kids matter. I enjoy helping kids and their families and teaching them about many different things. I feel that each child is a book and sometimes a chapter needs to be closed and a new one started. I believe that each child should be given an opportunity to grow and learn. If I can help them in the process then I am fulfilling my mission.
