"Duck" F. from Miller Elementary is our Student of the Month for April 2019!! Duck achieved the “Wise Ticket”, is on the A/B honor roll, plays basketball on the Wilson Boys Club Team and is a Challenger League Buddy. Duck is active in Her Legacy (children’s ministry), VLife and HCOC!! Duck says that his personal growth through therapy and his mentors allow him to learn to love himself as well as learning the tools to grow into a gentleman so he can build a strong community and to love everyone. He shares with us that dealing with his FASD and his sensory disorder are some of his biggest challenges. He also shares that being a foster child to being adopted gives him the strength and joy of belonging to a family and that his strong personality helps him deal with life’s judgments. Duck says he wants to be an adult that will understand others in time of distress/needs.

Serentiy C.

Our March 2019 Student of the Month is: *drum roll please* Serenity C., an awesome 6th grader at Terra Vista Middle School! She won the Spelling Bee Runner Up Award, played Starveling and Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, passed all her District Assessments, got in Battle of the Books, and made the Gold team for volleyball!! Serenity told us she “practiced outside of school and got really focused” when we inquired about initiatives she has taken for personal growth. At church, Serenity serves in the Faith Factory and helps care for the babies in Pebble Town. Serenity is a wonderful example for her younger siblings and to other youth in our community. Serenity shared that she “can be really good at certain things I didn’t know I could do!” Serenity reminds us to always give our best because we can surprise ourselves!

Adrian P.

Adrian H. is a 6th grader at Atkins Middle School. Adrian is deemed as one of our February 2019 Students of the Month! If he could be any animal, he would be a Puma and his favorite food is any kind of pizza. His favorite memory was winning the AllStar Tournament two years in a row! That is what we call an All-Star pitcher! Adrian shared that his most embarrassing moment was when he broke his collarbone and his grandma had to bathe him! Adrian reminds us that hard work allows you to do the things you love, and those who love you will always take care of you and be there for you!

Haylie V.

You getcha! Our girl Haylie V. is crowned as one of our February 2019 Students of the month!! Haylie attends Wilson Elementary School. If she could be any animal, she would be a unicorn! Haylie loves strawberries. Her favorite memory was when she went to the beach for the first time in Galveston, TX. Haylie made Cloud Slime for her science fair project. Her dedication to dance learning outside of school is remarkable. Haylie’s positivity reminds us that when we put good in, we get good out!
