Welcome and Greetings to all!

My name is Meagan Lasitter and I possess a very strong passion to help our youth reach their full potential and set them up for success, by teaching prevention education and life skills. It is important to influence today’s youth in a positive way because these children are the future!

A little bit about me- I graduated from Texas Tech University in May 2016 with a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies. During my undergraduate studies, I also served as an intern at The Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research on the Texas Tech Campus. I recently earned my Community Health Worker certification and currently working towards my Certified Prevention Specialist license.

After I graduated I was honored to be able to work for an amazing company called Independent Living Experience, as a Transition Advisor and Employment Specialist for Adults with Autism. I was able to hold support groups that taught vocational and daily life skills to ensure a bright future, and allow them to live their life independently. Within the past year, I started working as a Prevention Specialist helping at-risk youth set goals and lead healthy lives. The prevention team implemented a curriculum in multiple different high/middle schools and other settings in the community; including the Juvenile Justice Center, Reese Alternative School, CRTC, and in-patient/outpatient facilities.

The Hub City Outreach Center team decided to expand these services for the community by branching off and starting our own non-profit organization. I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to work with the most incredible people who share the same passion for encouraging our youth to become the best people we know they can be! We plan to continue making a difference by providing resources and prevention education in the Lubbock Community, so individuals can make their dreams become a reality. Thank you for visiting our website and we are very much appreciative of all the support we have from you all!
